DCI Detectives Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Stolen Car in Kisauni

Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Kisauni Sub-County have arrested two suspects, Emmanuel Mugodo Sabwa, 42, and Erick Maingi Muimi, 34, after recovering a stolen motor vehicle in a swift operation in Utange.

The silver Toyota Axio, registration number KDP 289B, was reported stolen at Buruburu Police Station in Nairobi.

Acting on forensic leads, DCI detectives tracked the vehicle to Utange, where they discovered its tracking device abandoned approximately 20 meters from a perimeter wall.

Further investigation revealed that the vehicle, now fitted with a different registration plate (KDA 348V), had its front dashboard partially dismantled, likely in preparation for resale or parts trade.

During the operation, detectives also recovered an assortment of car keys, dismantled vehicle trackers, a key programming machine, and several number plates, including KDJ 885G, KDP 289B, SSD 763A, and KCT 278Y.

Additionally, two vehicle logbooks—KCU 527H and KDA 348V—were seized, along with an HP laptop believed to be linked to the suspects’ criminal activities.

The suspects are currently in custody at Mjambere Police Station, where they are being processed for arraignment.

The recovered items are being held as exhibits as investigations continue into the suspects’ involvement in organized car theft and trafficking.
