City Lawyer Peter Kagwi Dies Suddenly in Nairobi Office

The Law Society of Kenya (LSK) is in mourning following the sudden death of Peter Kagwi, a youthful and vibrant lawyer, who was found lifeless in his Nairobi office on Tuesday evening.

Kagwi, who was the managing partner at Kagwi Githuku & Company Advocates, was a passionate advocate for alternative dispute resolution methods, particularly mediation.

An official statement issued by Eric Kivuva, the Nairobi Branch Chairperson of the Law Society of Kenya, expressed deep sorrow over the loss.

“We are devastated by the untimely passing of Peter Kagwi.

He was a dedicated professional and a staunch advocate for mediation as a method of resolving disputes. His contributions to the legal community will be sorely missed,” Kivuva said.

Kagwi, who had only recently established his law firm in September 2023, was described as a man of many passions, from his dedication to political leadership to his commitment to personal and spiritual growth.

Kivuva also highlighted his warmth and generosity of spirit, recalling that Kagwi was always known for his infectious joy in every interaction.

In addition to his legal career, Kagwi had an active role in the community.

His LinkedIn profile revealed that he was also a Trainee Certified Secretary under KASNEB.

Furthermore, he was a respected youth leader and discipleship facilitator at the DICC All Saints Community Chapel in Ruai, Nairobi.

Although the exact cause of his death has not yet been determined, LSK has assured the public that investigations are ongoing.

Police have not ruled out any foul play but have urged the public to respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time.

Peter Kagwi’s passing leaves a void in both the legal and local communities, with many colleagues and friends expressing their shock and heartfelt condolences.

He was remembered not only as a skilled lawyer but as a beacon of positivity and leadership.

His legacy will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing and working alongside him.

The Law Society of Kenya, in its statement, extended its condolences to Kagwi’s family, colleagues, and everyone who had been touched by his influence.

“We stand with his family and all who mourn his loss. May his spirit continue to inspire us in our work and in our lives,” the statementc oncluded.
