Renowned comedian and media personality Vincent Mwasia Mutua, popularly known as Chipukeezy, has been appointed as the Assistant Director for Protocol and Events in the Executive Office of the President.
The announcement was made on March 26, 2025, by Dennis Itumbi, the Head of Presidential Special Projects and Creative Economy.
Itumbi congratulated Chipukeezy on his new role, expressing optimism about his contribution to advancing the creative economy.
Chipukeezy gained prominence as a comedian on the Churchill Show, becoming a mainstay in Kenya’s media and entertainment scene.
In 2018, he was appointed as a director at the National Authority for the Campaign Against Drug Abuse (NACADA) by former President Uhuru Kenyatta and later served as Vice Chairperson in 2021.
In his capacity as Assistant Director for Protocol and Events, Chipukeezy will oversee the organization of official ceremonies, state functions, and the management of diplomatic protocols.
His duties include coordinating logistics for presidential events, liaising with government agencies and diplomats, preparing speeches and briefings, and handling public relations and media coordination during state functions.
