UDA MP Demands President Ruto Account for Alleged Sh13 Billion Spent on Raila’s AU Campaign

As the dust settles from the recent African Union Commission (AUC) elections, Juja Member of Parliament George Koimburi is making bold demands, calling on President William Ruto to account for the alleged Sh13 billion spent in support of Raila Odinga’s campaign.

Addressing congregants at PCEA Judea Unity Church, Koimburi, a member of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), took aim at the president, challenging him to explain how taxpayer money was used in the campaign despite Raila’s eventual loss to his Djiboutian rival, Mahmud Yousuf.

“Where did the Sh13 billion go?” Koimburi asked.

“Why was such a large amount allocated to a losing campaign when it could have been better utilized for the completion of stalled government projects across the country?”

The MP argued that with numerous infrastructural projects still in limbo, the funds would have been more beneficial for the nation if directed toward tangible development.

The UDA legislator also urged Raila Odinga to reconsider his political alliances, suggesting that he join forces with leaders such as Kalonzo Musyoka and Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua in a collective effort to oppose the current government.

“Kenya deserves liberation from the Kenya Kwanza government, and I believe a united front is the way forward,” Koimburi emphasized.

In addition to his financial concerns, Koimburi revealed plans for a fresh political push when Parliament resumes next week.

He vowed to rally fellow MPs to seek the removal of Speaker Moses Wetangula, accusing him of disregarding court orders regarding the proper composition of the National Assembly.
