Tragedy struck a family after two siblings were found killed in a fire incident at the Kiamaina slums in Nyahururu on Sunday afternoon.
The two aged seven and four respectively died in a house that they were locked by their mother who went to work in Rumuruti flower farm some 40Km away
The residents led by Nyumba Kumi Chairman Macharia Kahwai said that the fire started from one of the wooden houses in what they suspect was because of an electrical fault.
They were in the house when the fire broke out.
Machari said that residents tried to break into the wooden house where two were all in vain.
They said that over ten families have so far been rendered homeless following the incident.
Another resident Mugo Nyaga said this is the tenth fire incident in the area this year.
They are calling on local elected leaders to fulfill the promises they keep on making without implementing them.
The deceased bodies were moved to the morgue pending autopsy and investigations.
