TikToker Maria “Rish” Kamunge Arrested for Job Scam.

Popular Kenyan TikToker Maria “Rish” Kamunge has been arrested on allegations of defrauding numerous Kenyans through her overseas job placement agency, Trust Pin Verified Agency Ltd.

Victims have accused the agency of collecting substantial fees amounting to millions of shillings under the pretense of securing overseas employment, only for the promised jobs to be non-existent or misleading.

Her arrest comes after on March 26, 2025, a group of frustrated victims gathered at Trust Pin’s Nairobi office, presenting evidence of unfulfilled job promises and demanding refunds.

One victim recounted being stranded at the airport despite completing all necessary procedures, while another was misled about a job opportunity in Mauritius.

Following these complaints, police detained Kamunge for questioning.

Her lawyer has attributed the issues to rogue associates misrepresenting the agency’s services and has assured that refunds will be issued to clients who did not secure employment.

Police are urging other victims to come forward and assist with ongoing investigations.

This incident has shed light on the prevalence of fraudulent job placement agencies exploiting the aspirations of job seekers.

Prospective employees are advised to exercise caution, thoroughly verify the legitimacy of agencies, and be wary of upfront fees without guaranteed results.
