A devastating fire tore through rental houses in Gituamba, Gitaru, Kabete Constituency, last night, claiming the lives of three young children.
The victims, aged 6 years, 4 years, and just 3 months old, tragically perished in the blaze while their parents were away working.
Neighbors who rushed to the scene were unable to save the children as the fire quickly spread, and by the time the flames were extinguished, it was too late.
The two older children were discovered near the door, suggesting they had desperately tried to escape, while the infant was found in the bedroom, her body badly burned beyond recognition.
Despite the heroic efforts of nearby residents to fight the fire, nothing was salvaged from the house.
The intense blaze left the family with nothing but the grief of an unimaginable loss.
Kabete OCPD Anthony Mbogo confirmed the tragic deaths, stating that the children’s bodies had been transported to Thogoto morgue for examination, and investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
