Seven foreign nationals, believed to be Ethiopians, were arrested in Karatina Town, Nyeri, following a road accident on Friday, January 3, 2025.
The incident occurred at the Mathaithi area along the Nyeri-Nairobi Road when the ProBox car they were traveling in lost control and crashed.
Quick-thinking good Samaritans rushed to the scene, rescuing the victims and taking them to Karatina Level 5 Hospital for emergency treatment.
Police officers from Karatina Police Station arrived shortly after and placed the individuals under arrest.
Authorities suspect the aliens were en route to South Africa, though the details of their journey remain unclear.
Once discharged from the hospital, the seven were booked at Karatina Police Station where they will be held pending further investigation.
Mathira East Police Commander, Samson Leweri, confirmed that the suspects would be arraigned in court once they recover from their injuries and the investigation is completed.
