Inspector General of Police and DCI Chief Ordered to Produce Missing MCA Yusuf Hussein Ahmed by Friday Morning

High Court Judge Alexander Muteti has ordered the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, and DCI boss, Mohamed Amin, to produce Yusuf Hussein Ahmed, the Dela Ward MCA from Wajir, in court by 10 a.m. on Friday, alive or dead.

The order follows allegations that the MCA was abducted by unidentified armed men, believed to be police officers, on the night of September 13, 2024, while he was in a taxi near the Industrial Area Police Station.

The application for the order was filed by Yusuf’s cousin, Abdikadir Abdillahi, who reported that Yusuf went missing after being forcefully removed from the taxi at gunpoint around 8:00 p.m.

Abdikadir expressed concern that, despite their efforts to report the incident, no one has accounted for Yusuf’s whereabouts four days after the alleged abduction.

The petitioner stated that there is reasonable fear that Yusuf was taken by officers associated with the police, as the family has been denied access to him in custody, and he has not been presented before any court.

Abdikadir emphasized that unless the court intervenes, the family will continue to suffer anxiety and stress due to Yusuf’s forced disappearance without any legal recourse.
