Aberdare Safari Hotels Limited, one of Kenya’s most historic and renowned hospitality brands, has secured approval for significant share acquisitions that will bolster its financial position and support its expansion.
In a gazette notice public on February 6,2025 reveal that at a virtual Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on January 9, 2025, shareholders authorized the company to purchase 1,272,400 ordinary shares from Wagema Limited and an identical number of shares from Wain Limited, each valued at Kenya Shillings 127,240,000 (KSh. 127.24 million).
This approval paves the way for Aberdare Safari Hotels to strengthen its ownership structure and capitalize on growth opportunities in Kenya’s competitive hospitality sector.

Aberdare Safari Hotels, established nearly 90 years ago by Major Eric Sherbrooke Walker and his wife Lady Bettie, is celebrated for its rich history and connection to Kenya’s cultural heritage.
The company’s flagship property, which includes the historic Outspan Hotel, is located just 17 kilometers from the Aberdare National Park – home to more than 2,000 elephants and a range of unique wildlife, including the elusive bongo antelope.
