“My Life is in Danger” – Githunguri MP Wamuchomba Alleges Plot After Security Detail Withdrawn

Githunguri Member of Parliament, Gathoni Wamuchomba, has raised serious alarm over her safety and ongoing threats after recording a statement today at the Kiambu County Police Headquarters.

Wamuchomba claimed that her life is in imminent danger, following a suspicious order summoning her to the police station, which she insists did not originate from official security agencies.

“I am deeply concerned for my safety. The order to summon me did not come from the proper security channels, which raises serious questions about the motives behind it,” Wamuchomba said during a brief address outside the police station.

The MP, who has been an outspoken figure in Kiambu politics, further alleges that there is a hidden plot aimed at sabotaging her.

She pointed out the alarming withdrawal of her security detail just ahead of President William Ruto’s visit to Githunguri this past Saturday as a key indication of this sinister agenda.

“I had my security detail removed right before a major visit to Githunguri by the President. This isn’t just a coincidence — this is part of a larger plan to intimidate me and silence my voice in the region,” Wamuchomba remarked, visibly shaken by the ongoing events.

In addition to these personal threats, Wamuchomba claimed that some staff members at the Githunguri Constituency Development Fund (CDF) offices have been receiving threats as well, heightening the sense of unease in her constituency.

She has now called on the authorities to take immediate action before the situation escalates any further.

“People in my office, who are just doing their jobs, are now being targeted. This is not just about me; it’s about the safety of all those who work with me. We cannot allow this situation to spiral out of control,” Wamuchomba stressed.

The MP also took aim at President Ruto, accusing him of deliberately sowing division among Kiambu County’s leaders in a bid to maintain control over the region.

Wamuchomba expressed concerns that such tactics are being used to weaken local unity and prevent effective leadership.

“It seems that President Ruto is pitting leaders against each other, which ultimately hurts the people of Kiambu. We are being divided in order to keep us from working together for the betterment of the region,” she claimed.

In the face of growing political tension, Wamuchomba urged President Ruto to publicly take a stand and condemn the disturbing rise in violence and disruption at public events.

She specifically cited the recent trend of goons allegedly being dispatched to interrupt public gatherings, including church services.

“This is not just political; it’s a question of our basic rights. People should be able to congregate and express themselves freely without fear of being attacked. The President needs to speak out against this,” Wamuchomba added.

The embattled MP has demanded that her security detail be reinstated immediately, insisting that it is her constitutional right to protection.

“My security is not a privilege, it is a right. I will not stand by and watch as my safety is jeopardized for reasons that have nothing to do with my work for the people of Githunguri,” Wamuchomba declared.
