Kindiki Assures Free and Fair Mbeere North By-election, Vows Completion of Stalled Projects by 2027

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has assured residents of Mbeere North that the government will not meddle in the upcoming by-election, promising a transparent and peaceful process.

Speaking on Saturday at Siakago Girls High School grounds during a development tour of the constituency, the Deputy President emphasized the government’s commitment to democratic values.

He commended local elders for rallying behind a candidate who supports the Kenya Kwanza administration’s development agenda.

“The government has no intention of interfering with the by-election. The will of the people must prevail,” said Kindiki.

“We are encouraged by the unity shown by community elders in supporting a pro-development candidate. That is how we move forward as one nation.”

Kindiki also took the opportunity to highlight ongoing development projects in the area, particularly infrastructure.

He confirmed that stalled road projects in Mbeere North had resumed and assured residents that the government is committed to delivering on all promises by the end of President William Ruto’s term.

“We have resumed all key projects that had stalled due to budgetary constraints. By 2027, all these roads and development initiatives will be complete,” he stated

Cabinet Secretary for Public Service, Human Capital Development Geoffrey Ruku, who accompanied the Deputy President, urged residents to elect a leader aligned with the government to ensure smooth implementation of policies and development programs.

“This is the time to stand with the government. Elect a leader who will champion the government’s agenda in Parliament so that this region can benefit fully from national programs,” said Ruku.

The visit comes as political temperatures rise in Mbeere North ahead of the much-anticipated by-election, following a court ruling that nullified the 2022 parliamentary results.

The Kenya Kwanza leadership has urged for calm and unity as residents prepare to head back to the ballot.
