Drama Erupts Outside Senate as Orwoba Denied Entry Over Replacement Dispute

Drama erupts outside the Senate entrance at Parliament Buildings on Wednesday, August 27,2027, when former UDA-nominated Senator Gloria Orwoba was denied access, sparking a dramatic standoff with security personnel.

Orwoba was denied entry to the Senate in Nairobi after she arrived to present court documents challenging the legality of her replacement by Consolata.

Insisting that the process was unlawful, she blocked the Senate gates with her vehicle in protest.

“I came to submit court documents proving that my removal and replacement with Consolata is unconstitutional and unlawful,” Orwoba told journalists, expressing frustration at being barred entry.

Senate security officials stood their ground, citing official orders that Orwoba was no longer recognized as a sitting member of the house following the disputed replacement.

Despite attempts to negotiate, Orwoba remained outside, blocking access and holding firm in her demand to be heard.

The standoff caused delays to some parliamentary activities as onlookers and media gathered around the tense scene.

Orwoba maintained that she was being deliberately silenced to prevent her from fulfilling her legislative duties.

“This is a direct attempt to deny me my rights as a nominated Senator and to block me from representing the people who voted for me,” she said.

This happened as the impeachment proceedings against Kericho Governor Eric Mutai continue.
