A boda boda operator, Geoffrey Ouma, was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife on Sunday night after returning home with less money than usual in Ongata Rongai.
According to witnesses, Ouma, affectionately known as Jeff, had just come back from work, where he earned significantly less due to heavy rainfall affecting his business.
Upon his return, his wife confronted him about the lack of money to cover household items, demanding that he provide more.
When he was unable to meet her demands, an argument ensued between the two.
In a fit of rage, Jeff’s wife rushed to the kitchen, grabbed a knife, and stormed towards him.
Sensing the danger, Jeff attempted to flee but slipped and fell on the floor.
His wife caught up with him and stabbed him twice in the chest, fatally wounding him.
By the time neighbors arrived, it was too late, and Jeff had already passed away.
The couple had been married for five years and shared a child together.
The Ongata Rongai Police have arrested the wife, and investigations are ongoing into the circumstances that led to the tragic incident.
The entire community remains in shock at the senseless loss of life, which has raised concerns over domestic violence and financial strain within families.
