TSC Impersonator Arraigned in Court for Defrauding Education Graduate of Ksh 350,000

A woman alleged to be an imposter of the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) was on Thursday, November 20, 2024 arraigned in Nairobi court after being accused of defrauding an education graduate of Ksh 350,000.

Beautris Mutwa Nzambu, who appeared before Milimani Senior Principal Magistrate Benmark Ekhubi, is accused of falsely promising to secure a job for Faith Mbone at the TSC.

According to the charge sheet, the suspect fraudulently obtained the sum from Mbone on diverse dates between July 9 and 10, 2024, in Nairobi County.

Nzambu allegedly pretended to have the means to facilitate Mbone’s employment with the Teachers Service Commission, a fact that was later revealed to be false.

Nzambu denied the charges, and her defence lawyer pleaded with the court to grant her lenient bond terms, citing her lack of a prior criminal record.

In a brief ruling Magistrate Ekhubi granted her bond at Ksh 250,000, with an alternative cash bail of Ksh 150,000.
