CGTN Africa journalist Nick Mudimba has tragically passed away after collapsing at his home in Syokimau, Machakos County, on Sunday evening.
Mudimba, who had been battling health complications, was reportedly with his family when the unfortunate incident occurred.
According to a close family source, Mudimba had been diagnosed with health issues, including elevated uric acid levels, earlier in the weekend.
On Saturday, he had sought medical attention for the condition, and doctors were actively managing his care.
By Sunday, Mudimba returned home after receiving further treatment, appearing stronger and in better spirits.
He even took time to enjoy the Harambee Stars match against Gabon later that evening.
However, after taking his prescribed medication, Mudimba suddenly collapsed and began convulsing.
Despite efforts by his family to save him, he tragically passed away at home.
His body was subsequently transferred to a local mortuary in Syokimau as the family awaits an autopsy to determine the exact cause of death.
Mudimba was a highly respected journalist with a long and distinguished career. He had worked for several major media outlets, including KTN and Switch TV, before joining CGTN Africa as a senior reporter.
