In court documents dated January 30, 2026, Deputy Registrar Hon. Cynthia Mercy Muhoro ordered the Officer Commanding Station at Nairobi Central Police Station to execute the warrant against Mr. Ngugi.

The warrant follows a decree issued by the court on May 9, 2025, in a case filed by Githogori and Harrison Associates Advocates LLP against the tycoon.

According to the court order, Mr. Ngugi was directed to pay the law firm Sh3,710,630.15 “or to be Committed to a Jail Term of Six (6) Months.”

The court documents indicate that the total amount now owed has risen to Sh4,193,578 after additional costs were factored in.

The breakdown shows the original decretal amount of Sh3,710,630, with no payments made to date.

 Interest on the debt amounts to Sh475,948, while further costs stand at Sh5,500 and court collection fees at Sh1,500.

The case, registered as ELCLMISC/E018/2024, was presided over by Hon. Priscah Wamucii Nyotah.

The warrant authorizes police officers to arrest Mr. Ngugi and enforce the court’s decree, with executing officers entitled to travel expenses and out-of-pocket costs as guaranteed by the decree-holder’s advocates.
